Frequently asked questions
What types of items can I donate?
We accept clothing, linen, toys and housewares in excellent and good usable condition.
Sorry, we do not accept large donations such as strollers, car seats, furniture, etc. or any used houseware items that are used for food such as serving dishes, china. (We do accept these items in new condition.)
What does Deja New do with my donation?
All items in usable condition are sold in our Lakewood Serendipity store. Things that cannot be sold in our store will be recycled to help fund our organization, which is completely self-supporting and saved the community over 4 million dollars last year.
Can I get a tax-deductible receipt?
Yes. Please email the office at office@serendipitylakewood.org with your information.
How should my donation be packed, and do items need to be sorted?
We prefer donations in 13 to 33 gallon bags.
